Overview

Junior & Senior Lecturer – 6 Positions (Onsite/Hybrid at Multiple Locations)

To contribute to the development of the University’s mission, building upon its innovative educational experience to become a leading Open Distance Learning university in the region. To network with partner institutions from government, industry and business organizations for the purpose of developing and offering collaborative diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate training programmes. To work with the related departments to ensure consistency of quality in curriculum development and delivery of diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Teach, coordinate and develop learning materials for undergraduate and postgraduate courses (Open Distance Learning, Online Learning and Classroom Lecture) in the prescribed fields within the School. Conduct relevant research, publication and consultancy activities in related areas. Assist the School in developing new academic programmes, enhancing delivery and learning, facilitate seminars and other projects relevant to WOU. To oversee the programmes to ensure accreditation been granted by complying with the MQA Full Accreditation or MQA Maintenance Audit exercise. Ability to remain abreast of the emerging methodologies in open distance learning. Ability to work in a team. For selected roles, remote work is permitted from your city, with on-site attendance required only as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct relevant research, publication and consultancy activities in related areas.
• Assist the School in developing new academic programmes, enhancing delivery and learning, facilitate seminars and other projects relevant to WOU.
• Oversee the programmes to ensure accreditation been granted by complying with the MQA Full Accreditation or MQA Maintenance Audit exercise.
• Remains abreast of emerging methodologies in open distance learning.
• Collaborate effectively within teams and across departments.

Job Requirements

• Senior Academic (Special Needs Education) – Kuala Lumpur/Penang/Ipoh – 1 Position
• Master’s Degree or PhD in a field related to Special Needs Education.
• Experience with online and distance education methodologies is advantageous.
• High level of oral and written competence in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• At least 5 years of relevant working experience in an institution of higher learning.

• Senior Academic (School of Digital Technology) – Kuala Lumpur/Penang – 2 Positions
• Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Primary teaching and supervision within the Master in Data Science programme.
• Freshly graduated PhD highly encouraged to apply.
• Professional Certificate in Data Science or Machine Learning is an advantage.
• At least five (5) years of relevant working experience in higher education with leadership experience is preferred.
• Experience with online and distance education methodologies and strong English/Bahasa Malaysia communication skills.

• School of Technology and Engineering Science (E&E) – Kuala Lumpur/Penang – 1 Position
• Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in teaching electrical and electronics or mechatronics is advantageous.
• Experience with online and distance education methodologies and strong English/Bahasa Malaysia communication skills.
• Preferably 5 years’ relevant experience with academic leadership.

• Accounting Lecturer (School of Business & Administration) – Kuala Lumpur/Penang – 1 Position
• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field.
• PhD or DBA in Accounting is highly preferred for senior/ research-focused roles.
• Experience with online and distance education methodologies and strong English/Bahasa Malaysia communication skills.
• Preferably 5 years of relevant experience in higher education with leadership experience.

• Construction Management/Quantity Surveying Lecturer – Penang – 1 Position
• PhD in Construction Management or Quantity Surveying; senior lecturer experience in a reputable institution.
• Proactive, professional with teamwork and strong interpersonal communication.
• Ability to conduct independent research and demonstrate academic leadership.
• Strong track record in course development, delivery, and high-quality academic standards.
