Key Responsibilities
Operate, monitor and maintain electric injection moulding machines to ensure stable and efficient production.
Perform machine start-up, shut-down, mould changeover and machine setting according to production requirements.
Set, update and optimise injection moulding parameters such as temperature, injection pressure, injection speed, holding pressure, cooling time, injection time and cycle time.
Monitor and adjust process parameters to maintain consistent product quality and productivity.
Monitor and record machine running hours, mould running hours, downtime, breakdowns and production performance.
Maintain accurate machine, mould and tool service records, including preventive maintenance, repairs and replacement of parts.
Perform routine inspection and troubleshooting of injection moulding machines and auxiliary equipment.
Carry out mould/tool maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, inspection and minor repairs.
Monitor mould condition and identify wear, damage, cooling issues, leakage, flash and other mould-related problems.
Maintain records of mould usage, servicing, maintenance history and running hours.
Participate in new model development, mould trials and first-off production.
Support new mould trials, process setup and parameter optimisation for new models.
Support new model launch and mass production ramp-up, ensuring stable process conditions.
Troubleshoot moulding defects and determine whether the root cause is related to Man, Machine, Material, Method or Mould.
Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Tooling and Maintenance teams to resolve machine, mould and process issues.
Recommend corrective and preventive actions for recurring machine, mould and process problems.
Support continuous improvement activities to improve machine utilisation, cycle time, productivity, quality and mould life.
Ensure machines, moulds and tools are properly maintained and safely operated.
Maintain proper documentation and traceability of machine parameters, mould history, service activities and repairs.
Perform other duties related to injection moulding, tooling and equipment maintenance as assigned.
Junior Injection Moulding Technician
Assist Senior Technicians with machine setup, mould changeover, parameter adjustment and troubleshooting.
Perform basic machine and mould inspection, cleaning and maintenance.
Assist in setting, updating and recording machine parameters for production and new model trials.
Maintain daily records of machine running hours, mould running hours, downtime and service activities.
Assist during mould trials and new model development activities.
Develop practical knowledge of injection moulding processes, electric injection moulding machines and mould construction.
Identify and report machine, mould, process and quality abnormalities to the Senior Technician or Supervisor.
Senior Injection Moulding Technician
Independently handle machine setup, mould changeover, trial runs and process optimisation for electric injection moulding machines.
Set, review, update and optimise machine parameters to achieve stable processes, optimum cycle time and consistent product quality.
Analyse moulding defects and make appropriate adjustments to machine/process parameters.
Lead and participate in new model development, mould trials and process setup in collaboration with Engineering, Tooling and Quality teams.
Support new mould qualification, first-off approval and process stabilisation before mass production.
Lead and perform mould/tool preventive maintenance and minor repair activities.
Monitor mould running hours and establish servicing schedules based on usage and condition.
Maintain comprehensive machine and mould service history, including breakdowns, repairs, parameter changes and parts replaced.
Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities to reduce downtime and improve machine utilisation.
Provide technical guidance and training to Junior Technicians and machine operators.
Troubleshoot recurring machine, mould and process issues and implement corrective actions.
Support continuous improvement projects involving cycle time reduction, process optimisation, quality improvement and mould life extension.
Requirements
Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing or related field is preferred.
Fresh graduates or candidates with relevant hands‑on manufacturing experience are encouraged to apply.
Basic knowledge of injection moulding machines and moulds is an advantage.
Basic understanding of machine parameters and moulding processes.
Willing to work shifts and in a production environment.
Good troubleshooting attitude and willingness to learn.
Minimum 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in injection moulding or a related manufacturing environment.
Strong practical knowledge of injection moulds/tooling and mould maintenance.
Experience with 50–500 Ton electric injection moulding machines is preferred.
Experience with Sumitomo, JSW, Sodick or Nissei machines will be an advantage.
Experience in machine setup, mould changeover, parameter setting and process troubleshooting.
Experience in new model development, mould trials and process optimisation.
Able to read basic mould drawings and understand mould components and functions.
Able to maintain and analyse machine/mould running hours and service records.
Good troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
Able to work independently and guide Junior Technicians/operators.
