We are seeking a highly motivated Murex Datamart Developer with 3-5 years of experience in Murex development, data management, and risk reporting to support strategic initiatives within the Risk & Data Science domain.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, enhancement, testing, and support of Murex Datamart solutions, with a focus on Market Risk, Credit Risk, regulatory reporting, and data integration. The role requires strong technical expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, Unix/Linux, Shell Scripting, and Datamart development, along with hands-on experience in analyzing complex data flows, troubleshooting production issues, and supporting end-to-end data delivery processes.
The candidate will work closely with risk management teams, business analysts, testers, and technology stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions supporting business and regulatory objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain Murex Datamart solutions supporting Market Risk, Credit Risk, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Design and develop complex SQL and PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, scripts, and data extraction processes to support reporting and analytics.
- Perform data analysis, reconciliation, and validation to ensure completeness and accuracy of risk calculations and regulatory reports.
- Support the configuration and optimization of Murex Datamart, reporting layers, and risk analytics solutions.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications.
- Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and regression testing activities for system enhancements and regulatory initiatives.
- Support system integrations and data feeds between Murex and upstream/downstream applications.
- Perform root cause analysis, issue investigation, and defect resolution for production incidents.
- Work in Unix/Linux environments, leveraging shell scripting for automation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and batch processing activities.
- Collaborate with business users, risk teams, developers, and testers throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Prepare technical documentation, design specifications, production support documents, and operational procedures.
- Ensure compliance with development standards, release processes, and governance frameworks.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience with the Murex platform, particularly Murex Datamart development and support.
- Strong expertise in SQL and PL/SQL, including query optimization, data analysis, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Experience working in Unix/Linux environments with hands-on knowledge of Shell Scripting (Bash/Korn Shell).
- Experience supporting risk reporting, regulatory reporting, and data management solutions.
- Knowledge of Murex Market Risk and/or Credit Risk modules.
- Strong understanding of Value at Risk (VaR), risk measurement methodologies, and risk management concepts.
- Experience performing data validation, reconciliation, and investigation of data quality issues.
- Understanding of SDLC, testing methodologies, defect management, and release management processes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with business users, risk stakeholders, and technology teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Murex Datamart configuration, extraction workflows, and reporting frameworks.
- Knowledge of Murex MLC (Market Limit Control) and risk aggregation processes.
- Experience with Oracle Database administration concepts and performance tuning.
- Exposure to ETL processes, data warehousing, and enterprise reporting platforms.
- Familiarity with automation tools, scripting frameworks, and batch scheduling environments.
- Experience working with financial products including FX, Fixed Income, Derivatives, and Structured Products.
- Knowledge of Basel III/IV, FRTB, and regulatory risk reporting frameworks.
- Experience working in Agile or DevOps delivery environments.
- Banking, treasury, capital markets, or risk management domain knowledge.
