Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a security operations professional in Malaysia to monitor events via a SIEM platform, analyze alerts for threats and false positives, and perform incident triage with escalation to L2 SOC or ENG teams. You will also spot suspicious activity and correlate logs from multiple sources while ensuring proper log retention for compliance.

The role emphasizes proactive root-cause analysis, teamwork, and autonomy in handling complex tasks within a collaborative SOC

Qualifications

• 2 years’ minimum experience in security operations.
• Malaysian nationality only.
• Ability to work in a team and share findings.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor security events using a SIEM platform.
• Analyze alerts to identify threats and false positives.
• Perform initial incident triage and escalate complex cases to L2 SOC or ENG teams.
• Identify suspicious activity in network traffic and system behavior.
• Develop familiarity with threat intel feeds to recognize IOCs and perform searches.
• Collect, parse, and correlate logs from diverse sources.
• Ensure logs are retained properly and assist in compliance reviews.
• Own tasks with autonomy and manage complex work streams.

Continuous monitoring of security events using a SIEM platform

Analyzing alerts to identify potential threats and false positives

Incident Triage and Escalation:

Performing initial investigation and triage for identified security incidents.

Escalating complex incidents to L2 SOC tier or ENG teams.

Identifying and responding to suspicious activity or anomalies in network traffic and system behavior

Developing familiarity with threat intelligence feeds to recognize and/or perform searches with indicators of compromise (IOCs)

Collecting, parsing, and correlating logs from various sources

Ensuring proper log retention and assisting in compliance-related log reviews

Ability and autonomy to manage and complex tasks

Work as a team to achieve business goals; willingness to share findings, ask for help, and contribute to a positive and cooperative team environment

Proactive understanding of an incident’s root causes and assess the potential impact
