Job summary

onsemi is looking for a Facilities Technician in Seremban. You will be responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and conducting routine inspections.

The ideal candidate holds a Technical Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and has 3-5 years of experience, preferably in a semiconductor environment. Proficiency in both Bahasa Malaysia and English is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
• Experience in a facilities role within a semiconductor environment is an advantage.
• Ability to understand schematic drawings and blueprints.

Job description

Job Title: Facilities Technician • Company: onsemi • Location: Seremban

Responsibilities

• Support the operation, maintenance, and reliability of Facilities Mechanical system within the facility on a duty shift or normal hours.
• Operate, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair all plant support equipment to ensure safe, efficient and compliant operations.
• Monitor equipment performance and record data related to energy consumption.
• Maintain a continuous supply of utilities in the plant during shift duty.
• Perform containment and corrective action in the event of partial or complete system interruption to avoid impact to manufacturing.
• Carry out preventive and predictive maintenance on mechanical systems including HVAC, pumps, motors, compressors and other systems when required.
• Respond to breakdowns, alarms and trouble calls promptly.
• Conduct routine inspection and testing to ensure equipment operates within designated parameters.
• Enforce mechanical safety measures and precautions.
• Implement and execute energy‑saving programs effectively and timely.
• Ensure all equipment functions satisfactorily and record entries in the appropriate log books.
• Analyze and prevent future facilities equipment breakdowns.
• Be proactive in day‑to‑day shift activities to avoid utilities or equipment breakdown that affect manufacturing operations.
• Understand local laws, regulations, procedures, standards and codes and ensure compliance in the work area.
• Encourage reporting of any labor, ethics or EHS violations.
• Support audits and compliance‑related activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned, instructed or directed.

Qualifications

• Technical Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC or related technical field.
• Charge man Certificate of Competency from Suruhanjaya Tenaga (advantage).
• A minimum of 3‑5 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment including HVAC, PCW, CDA, fire alarm system, etc.
• Experience in a facilities role within a semiconductor environment is an added advantage.
