Job summary

Avensys Consulting is seeking a Java Developer in Kuala Lumpur to design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications and microservices. You will build RESTful APIs with Spring Boot and collaborate across engineering teams to deliver robust software solutions.

Ideal candidates have strong Java experience, expertise in Spring frameworks, and a track record of writing clean, testable code with unit/integration tests.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java development with RESTful API design.
• Experience with Spring ecosystem (Framework, MVC, Data, Security).
• Hands-on experience with unit/integration testing (JUnit/Mockito).
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications and microservices.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Work with Spring Framework, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security, and Hibernate/JPA.
• Design efficient database queries and work with SQL databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-tested code.
• Develop unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito.
• Troubleshoot application defects, production issues, and performance problems.
• Participate in code reviews and follow coding and security best practices.
• Work with Git and build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
• Collaborate with QA, DevOps, product, and other engineering teams.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and application deployment processes.
