Who You Are
The Security Operations (SecOps) Lead is responsible for leading and managing the security operations team that protects the organization from cyber threats and related incidents. The Security Operations Lead oversees all Security Operations Center (SOC) activities, such as security monitoring, analysis, and response, and ensures compliance with security policies and standards.
This role will also manage relations with an external team, ensure reporting is as agreed and within defined targets/SLA, and is a process-oriented role that does not manage people.
Position Summary
- Together with the remote SecOps team, develop and maintain security metrics and dashboards, and report on SecOps performance and effectiveness to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Monitor health and security of global infrastructure, addressing operational issues.
- Streamline/automate operational practices.
- Lead and supervise the security operations team, and provide guidance and feedback on their performance and development.
- Ensure services meet agreed service levels and identify improvements in overall service delivery.
- Support in establishing and maintaining the SOC strategy and objectives, aligning them with the organization’s goals and priorities.
- Define and implement security operations processes, procedures, and best practices, and ensure they are followed (e.g., SOPs, Playbooks, automation).
- Involved in selecting security operations tools and technologies, and evaluate and recommend new solutions to enhance SOC capabilities and efficiency.
- Oversee monitoring and analysis of security events and alerts from various sources, and the response and remediation actions.
- Conduct and oversee security incident investigations, and prepare and deliver incident reports and lessons learned.
- Collaborate and communicate with other security teams, IT teams, business units, and external partners to ensure security operations alignment and integration.
What You Will Bring (Required Qualifications)
- Fluent in English
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to handle complex and high-pressure situations
- Strong communication and presentation skills, and ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in leading and managing security teams or at least a strong ambition to do so
- Field of Study: Computer Technology is preferred
- Years of Experience (Minimum): 1 - 3 years
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional security certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, GCIH, GCIA, or equivalent are a plus
- Strong knowledge and understanding of security technologies, such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewall, antivirus, etc.
- Knowledge and understanding of security frameworks, standards, and best practices, such as NIST, ISO, PCI, etc.
- Management skills, and ability to motivate and inspire the team
- Minimum 2 years of experience in security operations, preferably in a SOC environment
