What's the role?

We are looking for an experienced IT Project Manager managing strategic projects under Global IT, delivering solutions to our Corporate Sustainability team and working towards achieving our Company and IT vision. Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope, oversee all aspects of projects, set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor and summarize progress of project for communication to upper management.

You will strongly contribute to our digital transformation journey shaping the future of digitalization at Hilti, which is essential to further grow our position as quality and innovation leader.

What does the role involve?

As an IT Project Manager for the Sustainability function, you will work directly with business counterparts to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget. You will coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible and will support to hire new talent as needed to fulfil the needs.

  • Leads, directs, and coordinates the project management team in the design of the overall project, and in the development of the implementation plan and project timelines.
  • Identifies and develops working relationships with affected Business and IT functions at all levels; ensures that representatives from all functions are kept appropriately informed of project activities and are encouraged to participate as appropriate.
  • Advises process teams representing functions needs regarding cross‑functional considerations, workflow integration and coordination, and optimization of best practices.
  • Provides and ensures communication with and between project and respective functional management at critical points in the implementation of the project plan.
  • Identifies, secures, and coordinates implementation of internal and external resources and expertise as appropriate to achieve project objectives.
  • Ensures that projects are proceeding according to timelines, meeting targets and expectations, and adhering to established operating parameters; negotiates changes in project resources as necessary to achieve objectives and timelines.
  • Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the goals and objectives of the unit; recruits, trains, oversees, and deploys technical and functional staff as appropriate.
  • Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training and enforcement of internal procedures and controls, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
  • Develops and manages operating budgets as appropriate and performs periodic cost and productivity analyses.
  • Performs miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Information Systems, Computer Science, or in a related field.
  • Interest in driving impact through ESG initiatives in sustainability (Hilti real estate and Hilti products).
  • 3 or more years of relevant work experience as a Project Manager and/or Product Owner, ideally also experience with SAP products e.g. S/4HANA transformation projects.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus.
  • Ability to multi‑task and manage various project elements simultaneously.
  • Good understanding of methodologies like Agile, waterfall etc. to drive.
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
  • Willingness to learn and develop yourself and your colleagues with the right leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to details, conflict resolution skills, big‑picture thinking and vision, self‑responsibility, and customer orientation.
  • Willingness to work in an international/virtual/geographically dispersed team.
