Key Job Responsibilities

1. Communication and Collaboration

• Serve as a liaison between business and IT development teams, fostering effective communication, driving iterative product enhancements, and enabling business growth in Malaysia's automotive finance market.
• Promote cross-departmental teamwork to achieve seamless alignment between IT solutions and operational processes.
• Offer IT-driven insights and assistance to business units, boosting overall efficiency.

2. Project and Related Partner Management

• Monitor the full project lifecycle from inception to completion, encompassing planning, implementation, oversight, and handover, while adhering to schedules and objectives.
• Guide agile methodologies, including sprint coordination, backlog prioritization, and user acceptance validation.
• Spearhead the assessment and adoption of diverse delivery strategies, such as in-house builds, vendor sourcing, and blended models.
• Draw on expertise in key suppliers and competitor platforms across China and Malaysia to shape strategic choices and cultivate partnerships.

3. Market Analysis and Product Design

• Undertake market studies and competitor benchmarking to pinpoint avenues for product refinement.
• Uncover operational challenges, partner with business teams to elicit and organize requirements, conduct systematic evaluations to develop functional frameworks, prototype user interfaces, delineate scope, and produce detailed product specifications.
• Collaborate with designers on interface layouts, overarching and granular interactions, continually advancing the user experience.
• Brief development and testing personnel on requirement blueprints, ensuring comprehensive comprehension among all team roles.
• Work alongside technical leads to direct developers in executing per design guidelines, troubleshooting implementation hurdles in coding.
• Evaluate test scenarios, instruct testers on alignment with design artifacts, and clarify any design ambiguities during validation.
• Handle versioning of product features and establish priority rankings.

4. Budget Management

• Prepare and administer budgets for product development, streamlining resource utilization.

5. Compliance Management

• Guarantee that all initiatives, operations, and systems align with Malaysian financial regulations, data protection frameworks (e.g., PDPA), and standards in the automotive finance sector.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years' experience as an IT Product Manager, including at least 3 years in financial services or automotive finance.
• Demonstrated success in project management, with preference for PMP or Agile/Scrum certification.
• Robust analytical capabilities, proven expertise in data-informed decision-making, and proficiency with standard management tools.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, along with proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia to effectively operate in Malaysia's multilingual professional landscape. Proficiency in Mandarin is advantageous.
• Comprehensive understanding of Malaysian financial regulations, encompassing guidelines from Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and fintech-specific requirements.
• Expertise in diverse project delivery models, including in-house development, vendor procurement, and hybrid methodologies.
• Solid knowledge of leading suppliers and competitor platforms in China and Malaysia, complemented by a strong network within the industry.
• Skilled in leveraging product management tools such as Jira, Trello, or Aha! for roadmap development and prototype creation.
• Proven ability to excel in a dynamic, multicultural environment, embracing Malaysia's varied workforce and business practices.
• Superior problem-solving skills coupled with a customer-focused approach to continually enhance user experiences.
