Job summary

An IT services provider located in Malaysia is seeking an IT Support Specialist responsible for configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network equipment and IT systems. Candidates should have a diploma in IT, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently. Job description

Assist in configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network equipment and IT systems.

Monitor all IT system's health and performance, and coordinate corrective actions with the external IT Consultant.

Manage and monitor firewall, antivirus compliance, and ensure timely security updates across all devices.

Enforce cybersecurity preventive measures and secure digital practices across the organisation.

Create, manage, and deactivate user accounts for Windows OS, email, and server systems.

Enforce proper access rights and prevent unauthorised usage or misuse of systems.

Maintain accurate tracking of all IT hardware assets in accordance with the SCA Asset List.

Manage issuance, storage, returns, repairs, upgrades of IT equipment, and coordinate write-offs for damaged units.

Ensure all installed software is licensed, approved, and tracked; prevent unauthorised installation by users.

Manage renewal of approved software and security subscriptions such as Microsoft Office and Antivirus.

Track software license usage and expiry dates aligned with the SCA Asset List.

Ensure scheduled backups for servers, business systems, emails, and digital files; verify completion and integrity of backup logs.

Support restoration testing and recovery efforts in the event of data loss or system compromise.

Enforce Company IT policies including Internet, Email, Cloud Storage, and AI Acceptable Use.

Support response, containment, escalation, and recovery efforts during cybersecurity incidents such as hacking, phishing, malware or data breach.
