A leading retail company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an IT Manager to oversee and support IT infrastructure, manage a team, and ensure the smooth operation of IT systems. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of relevant experience, strong knowledge of POS systems, and leadership abilities. Proficiency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin is required. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing policies, managing inventory, and ensuring data security, with opportunities for travel and after-hours support.
Oversee, support, troubleshoot and perform periodic maintenance of IT infrastructure (network and servers), IT equipment, NAS storage devices, software applications and POS system to avoid unplanned outage downtimes.
Supervise and motivate IT support team to work efficiently and collaboratively.
Coordinate with IT support team to ensure that technology, infrastructure and operational requirements are met, including managing IT help desk and change request log.
Monitor and ensure daily backup of all databases and systems, and implement and maintain disaster recovery and backup plans.
Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy and security across all business applications.
Keep detailed records and create a knowledge base for IT incidents, IT problems and change management.
Manage IT inventory, ensure proper tagging, labelling and asset tracking.
Proactively follow up with vendors to ensure quick resolution of all incidents.
Responsible for any license and hardware warranty renewal for infrastructure appliances.
Assist in the planning and execution of IT projects to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope.
Provide regular progress updates and reports to the superior regarding operational status, project timelines and issue resolutions.
Perform ad-hoc or additional tasks as assigned by superiors.
Provide remote support and on-site support when required, including after-hours, weekends, or public holidays on a standby or case-by-case basis.
Travel to other branches may be required as part of support and project deployment responsibilities.
