Job description
Overview

Regional BI owner and single point of contact (IT SPOC) and subject matter expert (SME) for Business Intelligence, covering data warehouse, reports, dashboards, and ETL integrations across Southeast Asia (SEA). Lead BI-related projects and enhancement initiatives, working with vendor partners to ensure successful delivery. Manage BI in a BAU environment to maintain system stability and performance. Oversee the regional BI and analytics (Power BI) landscape, including IT infrastructure, solutions, governance processes, and documentation. Be accountable for all aspects of BI—from new initiatives to issue resolution and support/maintenance—by leading and collaborating with delivery and support vendors.

Responsibilities also include managing automation scripts developed with RPA and Power Automate, ensuring proper maintenance with vendor assistance; complying with the Asahi SEA IT Project Management methodology for projects and the ITSM framework for support; tracking BI projects, changes, and issues to meet agreed SLAs; maintaining the enterprise-wide data warehouse and BI reports to provide timely and accurate information to stakeholders; and providing periodic status updates and service reviews with support vendors to drive continuous improvement.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (vendors, business users, internal IT teams) to drive decision-making, delivery, and issue resolution; proactively identify and lead improvement opportunities in processes, solutions, or governance; lead multi-disciplinary IT teams through requirement analysis, design, build, testing, deployment, and support; manage escalations and conflicts through appropriate channels; and ensure timely delivery of projects, changes, and issue resolutions to successful closure. Stay updated on rapid technology changes and advocate for BI adoption across the business.

  • Lead and manage vendor partners to support and maintain BI in a BAU environment, ensuring system stability and performance.
  • Owner of the regional BI and analytics (Power BI) landscape, including IT infrastructure, solutions, governance, and documentation.
  • Proactively identify and lead improvements in processes, solutions, or governance; drive decision-making and issue resolution with stakeholders.
  • Manage automation scripts (RPA, Power Automate) with vendor assistance; ensure proper maintenance and support.
  • Adhere to Asahi SEA IT Project Management methodology and ITSM framework for projects and support/maintenance.
  • Track BI projects, change requests, and issues through governance to meet SLAs; maintain end-to-end BI solutions in optimal condition.
  • Provide periodic status updates and conduct regular service reviews with support vendors.
  • Collaborate with vendors, business users, and internal IT teams to deliver projects and resolve issues; manage escalations effectively.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in BI/data warehouse design, including data modeling and data mining.
  • Proven track record delivering and supporting mid-sized, moderately complex end-to-end BI solutions.
  • Hands-on experience implementing Power BI; knowledge of SAP BI/BO, Data Lake, Tableau, or similar is advantageous.
  • Strong database management experience (SQL Server, SQL queries, SSRS, SSIS, ETL scripting).
  • Good knowledge of Big Data concepts, data visualization, and data/API layers.
  • Business domain knowledge in Finance, Order to Cash, Supply Chain, or other relevant areas.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Advantageous: experience with automation tools (RPA, Power Automate) and FMCG sector knowledge.
  • Self-motivated, independent, with strong leadership and influencing capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong conflict management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Adaptable and resilient; able to work under high workload and fast-paced environments; confident and assertive in advocating for organizational benefits.
