The IoT Specialist is responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and connected systems across the manufacturing environment. The role focuses on integrating shop‑floor equipment with ERP systems to improve visibility, efficiency, and decision‑making including the maintenance and enhancement of the OEE system used for real‑time production performance monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
IoT Solution Development & Integration
- Design and deploy IoT architecture connecting machines, sensors, PLC, DAQ and gateways to ERP systems.
- Implement and maintain IoT platforms (Azure VM, Azure IoT, AWS IoT, or on‑premise gateways).
- Develop API integrations between IoT devices, OEE, and ERP.
- Support new digitalization initiatives under the Industry 4.0 roadmap.
OEE System Management
- Oversee daily operation, maintenance, and performance of the OEE system.
- Coordinate with production and engineering teams to ensure accurate machine data collection.
- Troubleshoot connectivity or data accuracy issues related to sensors, PLCs, or network components.
- Implement system enhancements, dashboards, and reporting improvements.
- Ensure consistent data synchronization with ERP and Grafana/Power BI dashboards.
Data & Analytics
- Collect and analyse IoT/OEE data to identify production inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
- Support management in KPI visualization using Power BI, Grafana, or similar tools.
- Collaborate with process engineers and MIS team to enable predictive or condition‑based maintenance analytics.
Security, Governance & Documentation
- Ensure IoT device and network security through proper configuration, patching, and access control.
- Maintain documentation on architecture, configuration, and change management for audit purposes.
- Comply with company IT and data governance policies.
Skills, Competencies & Requirements
Technical Skills
- IoT protocols (MQTT, OPC‑UA, Modbus, REST API)
- PLC and sensor interfacing
- Cloud IoT platforms (Azure, AWS)
- Data integration with ERP or MES systems via API/JSON/XML
- Basic programming in Python, C#, or Node.js
OEE / Manufacturing System
- Understanding of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) principles
- Hands‑on with OEE or similar MES/OEE platforms
- Familiarity with production lines, downtime analysis, and efficiency metrics
Networking & Security
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, VPN, VLAN, and industrial network protocols
- IoT device security, authentication, and encryption practices
Operating System
- Experience in both Windows and Linux Ubuntu server environments
Data & Visualization
- Experience with Power BI, SQL, MongoDB or Grafana dashboards
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability
- Cross‑department collaboration (Production, Maintenance, IT)
- Clear communication and documentation skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Industrial IT, or related field.
- Minimum 2-4 years in IoT system development, device integration, or manufacturing digital systems.

- Integration of knowledge between shop‑floor systems and ERP.
- Understanding of Industry 4.0, Digital Twin, or Smart Factory concepts.
