AIRDROITECH SDN. BHD. in Malaysia is hiring for an experienced firmware engineer to design, build and maintain firmware for IoT and smart home products. You will work across the full lifecycle from requirements to release, debugging across firmware and hardware, and evolving architectures for scale.

The role emphasizes hands-on hardware bring-up, debugging on resource-constrained MCUs, and collaboration with hardware, QA, product, and manufacturing teams for production-ready solutions.

Formación

• 4+ years firmware development experience in consumer electronics or IoT.
• Strong C on resource-constrained MCUs with FreeRTOS or bare-metal.
• A shipped product with firmware in it, and post-launch support.
• Hardware fluency - reading schematics, UART/SPI/I2C, board bring-up, datasheets without hand-holding.
• Debugging instinct - JTAG/SWD, logic analysers, scopes, reproducible issues weekly.
• Tooling comfort - Git, CMake/Make, Python and bash for scripts that support development and production.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and maintain firmware for IoT and smart home products.
• Work across the full lifecycle - requirements, architecture, implementation, testing, release.
• Troubleshoot firmware/hardware issues and determine which side they belong to.
• Improve existing architectures for robustness and scale.
• Evaluate and migrate between MCU platforms as products evolve.
• Build internal tools, test rigs, and production scripts.
• Prototype new features and product concepts.
• Review code and mentor junior engineers.
• Work with hardware, QA, product, and manufacturing through to delivery.
• Write design docs, test procedures, and release notes.
