Job summary

A&F Global Group Sdn Bhd is seeking a creative Fashion Design/ Merchandising graduate to join our design studio in Shah Alam. You will assist in developing new collections, translate concepts into wearable garments, and support senior designers from concept to final product.

You bring a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or Apparel Merchandising, strong fashion trend knowledge, and proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Merchandising, or related creative field.
• Strong understanding of fashion trends, textiles, color theory, and garment construction.
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for creating technical flats, mood boards, and presentation graphics.
• Ability to sketch designs by hand and translate concepts into wearable garments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with design teams and other departments.
• A keen eye for detail and passion for innovative, aesthetically pleasing designs.
• Familiarity with fashion industry landscape including sourcing, production processes, and market demands.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia for effective communication within the company and with local stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior designers in the creation of new fashion collections from concept development to final product.
• Conduct market research and trend analysis to identify styles, fabrics, and color palettes relevant to the brand.
• Prepare detailed technical sketches and specifications for garments, ensuring accuracy for pattern making and sampling.
• Collaborate with the production team to oversee the sampling process, providing feedback and making adjustments.
• Organize and maintain the design studio, including fabric swatches, mood boards, and sample archives.
• Participate in design meetings, contributing ideas and presenting mood boards and initial concepts.
• Source and select fabrics, trims, and accessories in line with design direction and budget constraints.
