Job summary

Kawan Food Berhad is seeking an Internal Auditor to perform audit assignments across its FMCG operations in Malaysia. The role requires independence in fieldwork, strong communication skills in English and Mandarin, and the ability to interact with various management levels.

The successful candidate will draft findings, follow up on management responses, and ensure quality audit documentation. Willingness to base in Pulau Indah, Selangor is essential, with opportunities to engage in ad-hoc

Qualifications

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Risk Management, Economics or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage with management levels.
• Mandarin and English proficiency required to communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Responsibilities

• Execute audit assignments for all business entities per the Annual Internal Audit Plan.
• Draft audit findings and propose improvements, obtain management responses within agreed timeframe.
• Follow up on actions to ensure effectiveness and prevent recurrence.
• Maintain audit working papers and ensure quality of the audit process.
• Assist in special/ad-hoc assignments and fraud investigations as required.
• Promote ethics and identify improper conduct; undertake other responsibilities as assigned.

Job description

Execute audit assignments for all business entities, including operational, financial and business process reviews, in accordance with the approved Annual Internal Audit Plan to ensure compliance with the Company’s policies, procedures and governing laws and regulations.

Draft audit findings/observations related to identified process gaps, assess the impact of these findings/observations, and propose constructive solutions/improvements. Additionally, ensure the acquisition of Management responses and agreed-upon action plans within the agreed timeframe.

Follow up on audit findings/observations upon the implementation of management actions and continuously monitor audit findings/observations to ensure the effectiveness of implementation and prevent recurrence.

Maintain proper audit working papers to ensure the quality and integrity of the audit process.

Assist in carrying out special/ ad-hoc assignment and fraud investigation when required.

Promote ethics within the Company and help identify improper conduct.

To undertake other responsibilities as and when assigned from time to time

Job Requirements

At least a Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Risk Management, Economics, or equivalent.

A minimum of 1 to 3 years of working experience in internal or external audit is recommended.

Able to carry out audit fieldwork independently by referring to guidance provided by the Internal Audit Manager.

Possess good communication and inter-personal skills, able to connect with personalities at various management levels.

Meticulous and able to handle challenges with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment.

Able to converse and write in English and Mandarin. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Industry experience within FMCG industry will be most welcome.

Must be willing to be based in Pulau Indah, Selangor.
