Job summary

Hibiscus Petroleum Berhad invites energetic students to join our Finance team in Kuala Lumpur for a hands-on internship. You will gain practical exposure to reporting, analysis, budgeting, and daily financial operations within the oil and gas sector.

As part of the internship, you will assist with data entry, AP/AR tasks, journal entries, and month-end activities while developing strong Excel and communication skills in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• CGPA of 3.2 or above (or equivalent academic performance)
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with other financial software is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A keen interest in the oil and gas industry is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in data entry of invoices into the accounting system (AP & AR).
• Support accounts payable (AP) processes, including invoice matching and filing supporting documents.
• Assist in accounts receivable (AR) tasks such as updating customer payments and basic follow-ups.
• Help prepare and organize supporting documents for payments and journal entries.
• Assist in processing supplier invoices and ensuring proper documentation is in place.
• Support basic journal entries under supervision.
• Help with document filing, scanning and record keeping for finance transactions.
• Assist in simple reconciliations (e.g. bank or supplier statements) with guidance.
• Support the finance team during month-end closing activities and financial statements
• Perform ad-hoc administrative and finance tasks as assigned.

This internship offers students pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields an opportunity to gain practical experience in financial operations within the dynamic oil and gas sector. Interns will work closely with the Finance Team, contributing to key processes such as reporting, analysis, and budgeting. This experience provides a valuable foundation for building a career in finance.

Interns will be given a monthly allowance. Shortlisted candidates will be notified via email/phone call.
