Overview

The IT Business Partner serves as a strategic business partner and dedicated "account manager" for the Business Unit within Hong Leong Bank Berhad (HLBB). The successful candidate is responsible for aligning technology strategy and execution with the unique needs and strategic objectives of the bank.

The role encompasses strategic planning, technology governance, budget management, vendor oversight, and proactive relationship management with key business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary liaison and trusted advisor between Group Technology and the Business Unit, functioning as a dedicated account manager.
  • Proactively engage with business heads to understand strategic objectives, needs, and challenges, translating them into actionable technology roadmaps.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, fostering open communication and collaboration.
  • Participate in strategic planning processes to ensure technology considerations are fully integrated.
  • Develop and maintain a technology roadmap tailored to the Business Unit's unique requirements, aligned with business priorities and organizational goals.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards and leverage existing technology assets.
  • Oversee technology capacity planning to ensure adequate resources for current and future business demands.
People & Talent Management
  • Collaborate with HR to implement programs addressing resourcing changes, career mobility, development, and reward/recognition initiatives for the technology team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and facilitate strong communication and collaboration within the team and with business stakeholders.
Skills & Experience We Are Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • An MBA or relevant Master's degree is a plus.
  • 10+ years in technology leadership roles within Financial Services or related industries, with a proven track record of delivering technology solutions to business and clients.
  • Deep understanding of FSI products, operations, services, technology trends, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards preferred.
Business Acumen & Leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technology solutions that drive business value, with strong business acumen to analyze challenges and opportunities.
  • Excellent leadership skills to inspire high-performing teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience managing large-scale technology projects with focus on on-time, on-budget delivery, including budget management, vendor management, and contract negotiations.
  • Strong understanding of technology governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks. Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with proven ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
