A leading player in the Industrial Machinery Manufacturing Industry is seeking an Industrial Engineer/Senior Engineer for their expansion in Kuala Selangor. The position involves conducting efficiency analyses, implementing Lean Manufacturing, and designing optimized factory layouts. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and experience in manufacturing environments. Proficiency in Mandarin is required for client interactions. The role promises challenges in optimizing processes and driving cost reductions.
We are currently looking for an Industrial Engineer/Senior Engineer for a leading player in the Industrial Machinery Manufacturing Industry for their expansion. This company has a legacy of more than 50 years in Malaysia. This position requires your urgent attention.
Location: Selangor (Expansion role)
Time & Motion Study: Conduct detailed time studies, work sampling, and motion analysis across Metal Stamping and Mechanical Assembly lines to establish accurate standard times and improve labor efficiency.
Capacity Planning: Calculate and model equipment and manpower capacity requirements (testers' capacity, machine maximum output) based on sales forecasts and production schedules to ensure the site can meet customer demand.
Line Balancing: Design and implement optimized production layouts and line balancing strategies to eliminate bottlenecks, reduce Work‑In‑Progress (WIP), and minimize non‑value‑added activities.
Lean Implementation: Lead the deployment of Lean Manufacturing tools, including Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 5S, and Kaizen events, focused on drastically reducing waste, cost, and lead time.
Cost Analysis: Develop and maintain accurate product costing models, focusing on labor, overhead, and utility usage. Identify and execute cost‑reduction initiatives through process redesign and automation justification.
Automation Strategy: Collaborate with the Production and Automation teams to justify the ROI and implement new automation projects and robotic solutions to enhance productivity and quality consistency.
Facility Planning: Design and propose optimized factory layouts and material flow paths (from incoming raw material storage to finished goods staging) to enhance safety, efficiency, and compliance.
Documentation: Create and manage all essential Industrial Engineering documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), process flow charts, and Bill of Materials (BOM) structures.
Data Management: Utilize ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP) to monitor production parameters, analyze performance data, and ensure data integrity for accurate reporting.
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
Previous experience in Metal Stamping, Mechanical Assembly, Electro‑Mechanical, Automotive, or EMS environments is highly advantageous.
Proficiency in Mandarin as this role requires to serve a lot of Mandarin‑speaking clients.
