Job summary

Jabil in Penang is seeking an IE Technician (Process/Assembly) to support assembly lines, set up tools, and drive process improvements. You will work under Engineers, follow SOPs, and help validate new processes.

This role offers hands-on manufacturing exposure with opportunities for Kaizen and audits across production areas. Applicants should hold a Diploma/Certificate in Engineering or have 2 years of related experience, plus a basic grasp of manufacturing and lean concepts.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Certificate in an Engineering Field or 2 years related experience.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Familiarity with lean concepts and continuous improvement is an advantage.
• Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Able to write routine reports and correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Perform assembly and process tasks according to approved work instructions, drawings, and SOPs.
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot assembly tools, jigs, fixtures, and production equipment.
• Support new process introductions, line setup, process changes, and pilot runs.
• Assist in time studies, work measurement, and process validation activities.
• Support Industrial Engineers in lean initiatives, productivity improvement, and waste reduction.
• Provide feedback on assembly methods and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and ergonomics.
• Assist in implementing standardized work and best practices across production lines.
• Maintain accurate records of process parameters, output, and issues encountered.
• Assist with updating work instructions, process flow documents, and visual aids.
• Support audits and compliance requirements as required.
