Job Summary

Sekolah Sri UCSI Kuala Lumpur is seeking a creative, skilled, and passionate Reka Bentuk (Design & Technology) Teacher to teach across upper primary, secondary, and/or pre-university levels (depending on school needs). The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore design thinking, develop problem‑solving skills, and apply technological and creative solutions to real‑world challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, hands‑on, and curriculum‑aligned Reka Bentuk & Teknologi (RBT) or Design & Technology lessons for students across relevant levels.
  • Design lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments in accordance with national curricula (KSSR/KSSM) and relevant international syllabi (e.g., IGCSE Design & Technology) where applicable.
  • Guide students through the complete design process, including ideation, research, sketching, prototyping, model‑making, product creation, and evaluation.
  • Teach and reinforce key concepts such as design principles, materials technology, systems and control, digital design tools, and safe workshop practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and individualized academic support.
  • Foster an interactive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, innovation, inquiry, and practical problem‑solving.
  • Integrate real‑world applications, emerging technologies, and global design trends into teaching practices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum alignment, cross‑disciplinary learning, and strong project‑based learning (PBL) experiences.
  • Participate in school activities including co‑curricular programs, exhibitions, competitions, parent‑teacher meetings, and other school events.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated with best practices in design education, digital tools, and technological advancements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design & Technology, Industrial Design, Engineering, Architecture, Education, or a related field.
  • Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., Diploma in Education, PGCE, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience teaching Reka Bentuk & Teknologi or Design & Technology at the school level is an advantage.
  • Strong content knowledge with the ability to translate abstract design concepts into practical, engaging learning experiences.
  • Skilled in design software, workshop tools, and/or prototyping equipment (e.g., 3D printers, laser cutters) is an added advantage.
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative, innovative, and passionate about nurturing students’ design skills, critical thinking, and personal development.
