Job summary

Western Digital Corp. in Penang, Bayan Lepas, is seeking a Diploma-qualified technician to independently operate, maintain, and troubleshoot ICPMS systems in our chemical lab.

You will ensure accurate analytical results, comply with quality standards, and support production through day and night shift coverage. Responsibilities include defining tasks, operating calibration and analysis, maintaining parts inventory, interpreting data, and reporting findings to engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering or science discipline.
• Familiar with Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
• Able to work in a 12-hour shift pattern (day/night).
• Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment.
• Able to communicate in basic English.
• Possess good analytical skills.
• Team player with ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Scope and define ICPMS tasks and execute testing activities to meet delivery deadlines while following procedures.
• Operate ICPMS sample preparation, calibration and analysis.
• Maintain spare parts inventory, perform preventive maintenance on schedule, and troubleshoot equipment.
• Analyze raw data and generate detailed reports for engineering teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and colleagues to ensure smooth operation.
• Provide continuous support to production in the chemical laboratory to enhance tool performance and workflow efficiency.
