This is an exceptional opportunity for you to shape and elevate the HR function within a well‑established organisation that operates at the forefront of marine engines, generator sets, and industrial solutions. As the Human Resources Manager, you will play a pivotal role in aligning HR strategies with business objectives, ensuring operational excellence, and nurturing a culture of continuous learning and employee engagement. You will be empowered to drive transformation, standardise best practices, and support growth across multiple industries including marine, mining, plantation, construction, and industrial sectors. The organisation values flexibility, professional development, and offers a supportive environment where your expertise will make a tangible impact on both people and business outcomes.

  • Lead the human resources function for a respected industry leader with over three decades of success in power solutions and engineering services.
  • Drive strategic HR initiatives across multiple business units, supporting organisational growth while fostering an inclusive and collaborative workplace culture.
What you'll do:

As Human Resources Manager based in Penang, you will be entrusted with overseeing the entire spectrum of human resources activities with an established company. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will involve collaborating with senior leaders to develop forward‑thinking HR strategies that underpin organisational goals. You will play an instrumental role in harmonising HR operations across multiple subsidiaries—ensuring seamless processes from recruitment through to payroll administration. By implementing robust learning programmes and succession plans, you will empower employees to reach their full potential while supporting leadership development at every level. Your commitment to compliance will safeguard the organisation's reputation as you coordinate audits and maintain meticulous records. Ultimately, your ability to foster an engaged workforce through thoughtful policy design and effective communication will be central to your success in this influential position.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive HR strategies that align with the group's vision for growth and transformation across all subsidiaries.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership to support workforce planning, organisational design, and change management initiatives that drive business success.
  • Standardise and optimise HR processes across various entities to ensure operational efficiency and consistency throughout the organisation.
  • Ensure full compliance with Malaysian labour laws as well as internal policies across different jurisdictions, maintaining high standards of governance.
  • Design and implement group‑wide learning and development programmes that promote continuous professional growth for employees at all levels.
  • Champion leadership development initiatives, succession planning frameworks, and career progression pathways to nurture talent from within.
  • Foster a positive culture of employee engagement by promoting open communication, recognition programmes, and opportunities for feedback.
  • Supervise core HR administrative functions including payroll processing, maintenance of employee records, contract management, and benefits administration.
  • Coordinate regular HR audits and prepare documentation required for regulatory compliance while providing timely reporting of key HR metrics to senior management.
What you bring:

To excel as Human Resources Manager in this established organisation, your background should reflect significant experience leading end‑to‑end human resources functions within complex business structures. Your academic credentials will be complemented by deep familiarity with local employment legislation as well as practical exposure to multi‑entity or multi‑industry environments. You are known for your ability to connect authentically with colleagues at all levels—building rapport through clear communication and empathetic listening. Your strategic mindset allows you to anticipate organisational needs while your operational acumen ensures efficient execution of daily tasks. Experience developing learning initiatives or succession plans will set you apart as someone who nurtures talent proactively. Above all else, your collaborative spirit—combined with respect for diversity—will help create an inclusive workplace where everyone feels supported.

  • Possess a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
  • Demonstrate at least 8‑10 years of progressive experience in human resources roles with proven capability in managing complex HR functions.
  • Have held a leadership position within HR for no less than 3 years where you have overseen teams or managed cross‑entity operations.
  • Showcase strong knowledge of Malaysian labour laws; any exposure to regional employment regulations would be highly regarded.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and build trust at all levels within an organisation.
  • Display strategic thinking abilities combined with hands‑on operational expertise that enables practical problem‑solving in fast‑evolving environments.
  • Experience managing HR functions across multiple entities or business units is considered advantageous but not essential.
  • Proven track record in designing learning & development programmes as well as implementing succession planning frameworks is desirable.
  • A collaborative approach with sensitivity towards cultural diversity and inclusivity within large teams is highly valued.
