Job Purpose

The Human Resources & Admin Assistant Manager / Senior Executive is responsible on a daily basis for the entire processing of documentation, verification and 1st level approval for all documentation pertaining to Recruitment, Compensation & Benefits, Performance Management, Employee Relations and Industrial Relations as well as office administration duties at the Methodist Council of Education office.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) for Wesley Methodist School (WMS) and Hope Methodist Vocational Centre (HMVC)
  • To oversee the recruitment process at WMS and HMVC, mainly by providing guidance
  • To verify all HR documentation before submitting for approval
  • To verify and validate end‑to‑end payroll and statutory documentation before submitting for approval
  • To review salary scales and salary proposals for WMS and HMVC
  • To provide guidance on performance management, staff welfare/benefits and other HR related matters
  • To monitor attendance and attrition and prepare relevant reports
  • To review current HR policies and procedures and recommend improvements as and when required
  • To manage staff misconduct, grievances and provide counseling and guidance when needed
  • To manage administration work related to professional development and trainings
2. Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) for Methodist Council of Education (MCOE)
  • To provide guidance on staff welfare/benefits, HR staff portal and other HR related matters
  • To monitor staff attendance and leaves, and prepare relevant reports and analysis
  • To support the Head of HR in preparing reports, analysis and presentations
  • To carry out the day‑to‑day office administration work
Job and Person Specification
Essential Specification (Must‑have)
  • Minimum Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in HR operations or HR management with a focus on recruitment, onboarding, payroll, professional development, staff welfare and staff discipline
  • Experience in developing and implementing HR strategies and policies
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia
Desirable Specification (Added advantage)
  • Knowledge in HR2000 software
  • Working experience in an educational institution
