A reputable company in the F&B sector is seeking a Human Resource Manager to oversee Industrial and Employee Relations. This role involves managing union negotiations, ensuring compliance with labour laws, and fostering positive employer-employee relationships. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in IR and ER, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation. To lead and manage all Industrial and Employee Relations matters, including union engagement and the administration of Collective Agreements (CA), to ensure harmonious employer–employee relationships. The role is responsible for managing union negotiations, interpreting and implementing CA provisions, handling disciplinary actions, grievances, and domestic inquiries, ensuring compliance with labour laws, and supporting business continuity through effective workforce relations.
Act as the main liaison between Management and the Trade Union to maintain constructive and professional industrial relations.
Lead, coordinate, and support Collective Agreement negotiations, renewals, and implementation.
Interpret, administer, and ensure consistent compliance with the Collective Agreement across all departments.
Handle union queries, representations, and disputes in accordance with CA provisions and labour laws.
Prepare management position papers, responses, and documentation for union meetings and negotiations.
Manage employee grievances, complaints, and disputes in a fair, timely, and compliant manner.
Advise management on IR/ER matters, employee conduct issues, and best practices to prevent disputes.
Promote harmonious employer–employee relationships and a positive industrial climate.
Oversee and ensure proper execution of disciplinary processes, including investigations, show-cause letters, and Domestic Inquiries.
Ensure all disciplinary actions are conducted in compliance with the Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act, company policies, and principles of natural justice.
Represent or support management in disciplinary hearings, conciliation meetings, and industrial court matters when required.
Ensure full compliance with labour legislation, regulations, and guidelines issued by relevant authorities.
Liaise with government bodies such as the Labour Department, Industrial Relations Department, and other statutory agencies.
Monitor changes in labour laws and recommend policy or procedural updates accordingly.
Support employee engagement initiatives to improve morale, productivity, and retention.
Facilitate effective communication between management and employees on IR/ER-related matters.
Conduct briefings, training, or awareness sessions on disciplinary procedures, CA provisions, and workplace conduct.
Provide strategic IR/ER advice to senior management on workforce issues, organisational changes, and risk mitigation.
Support business continuity by anticipating and managing industrial relations risks.
Contribute to HR strategy planning with a focus on employee relations stability and compliance.
To carry out any additional jobs as assigned to you by the Management of the Company from time to time.
Responsible for Food Safety issues - Report any non-conformance and food safety problems to Food Safety Team Leader.
