Job summary
A leading construction firm in Malacca is looking for a Site Safety Supervisor to enforce safety regulations, conduct inspections, and maintain documentation. The ideal candidate will possess a diploma, a valid SSS competency certificate, and at least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in large-scale projects. Excellent communication skills in both Bahasa Malaysia and English are required for training and briefings.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Site Safety Supervisor in the construction industry.
 - Possess a valid Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) competency certificate registered with DOSH.
 - Knowledge of Malaysian OSH laws, particularly OSHA 1994.

Job Responsibility
- Enforce all provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (OSHA), CDM Regulations 2024, Environmental Quality Act 1974 and other relevant regulatory acts and regulations.
 - Ensure all safety-related documentation, such as safety checklists, inspection reports, toolbox meeting records, and incident reports, are accurately maintained and filed for submission to DOSH and company management.
 - Assist the Lead, HSSE in liaising with DOSH officials, DOE officials or other relevant authorities during site inspections or audits.
 - Conduct daily site walkdowns and inspections to identify and rectify any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts. This includes checking for compliance with work at height, confined space, lifting operations, and scaffolding safety protocols.
 - Identify potential hazards specific to plant construction, such as chemical hazards from waste materials, fire and explosion risks from flammable gases, and electrical hazards.
 - Assist in the preparation and review of Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) documents and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for all high-risk activities.
 - Monitor and ensure that all workers and visitors use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times and that all machinery, tools, and fire-fighting equipment are in good working condition.
 - Facilitate, conduct and record daily toolbox meetings and safety briefings with workers and subcontractors to communicate work-specific hazards and safe work procedures.
 - Provide safety induction training to all new workers and visitors before they are allowed access to the site.
 - Assist in the initial investigation of accidents and near-misses, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and prepare detailed incident reports for the Lead, HSSE. Assist in coordinating emergency response efforts, including first aid and fire response, when necessary.
 
Job Requirements
- Minimum Diploma in relevant field and possess a valid Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) competency certificate (Yellow Book) registered with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH).
 - Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Site Safety Supervisor in the construction industry, preferably on large-scale projects. Experience in power, oil & gas, or chemical plant construction is prefered due to similar safety risks.
 - In-depth knowledge of Malaysian OSH laws, particularly OSHA 1994 and Occupational Safety and Health (Construction Work) (Design and Management) Regulations 2024 (CDM Regulations 2024).
 - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to conduct training and briefings in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
 - Strong observational and analytical skills to identify and control hazards.
