Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee large international construction projects in Asia from the Malaysia base. You will coordinate between clients, architects and consultants, manage master schedules, resources and safety, and lead a diverse construction team to deliver on time and within budget.

You will work with a collaborative team to ensure quality control, risk management and transparent reporting, while maintaining strong client relations and adherence to

Qualifications

• Degree in construction, project management or similar field.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience on large international construction projects in Asia.
• Experience in managing contractors in pre and post contract stages and managing tendering processes preferred.
• Ability to lead large multi-disciplined construction teams with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Overall project management to ensure quality, cost, safety and environment issues and scheduling are met.
• Coordinate construction projects including progress, logistics, quality, cost and client relations.
• Coordinate between client, architects and consultants; monitor site labour, materials and plant resources within budget.
• Manage master programme, manpower, materials and plant schedules; review and communicate short-term programmes to all parties.
• Ensure site safety standards; provide site administration, meetings and reporting.
• Plan and organize statutory inspections; act as client representative and manage daily project operations.
• Facilitate progress meetings and create project reports; update master programme; coordinate site inspections and reporting.
• Manage other consultants and the professional team; assist with procurement and appointment as needed.

• To be responsible for overall project management in ensuring the quality, cost, statutory, safety and environment issues and project scheduling requirements are met.
• To be responsible for overall co-ordination and management of construction projects including progress, logistics, quality, cost and client relations.
• To coordinate between client, architects and consultants.
• To monitor the use of site labour, materials and plant resources in accordance with the project cost budget.
• To manage the implementation of the master programme, manpower, materials & plant schedules.
• To ensure all short-term programmes are properly reviewed and communicated to all parties concerned.
• To ensure proper safety conduct and standards of all site operations.
• To provide effective and efficient site administration, meetings and reporting.
• To plan and organize various statutory inspections.
• To act as client representative, managing the daily running of the project.
• To facilitate progress meetings and produce project reports.
• To update the master programme.
• To facilitate site meetings and inspections to report on quality and progress.
• To manage other consultants and the professional team.
• To assist with the procurement and appointment of other consultants as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree inconstruction, project management or similar function.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience on large International construction projects in Asia.
• Experience in managing contractors in pre and post contract stages and managing tendering process will be preferred.
• Ability to lead large multi-disciplined construction teams, with excellent leadership and problem solving skills.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
