Job summary

A leading global professional services firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced HRBP to manage HR matters for the business unit. As a HRBP, you are responsible for HR matters for the Business Unit (BU) in Malaysia. You will work with the Regional HR team and business leaders to align business objectives and contribute to the broader business strategy. This role requires collaboration with other HR team members in other countries BU and the local HR compliance team. You will need to be comfortable working in a complex cross‑matrix structure.

You play a pivotal role in the implementation of HR strategies and initiatives to support the Business Unit in alignment with the business objectives. This role involves building strong partnerships with senior business leaders, collaborating closely with regional HR teams, and contributing to strategic HR decisions. You will oversee key HR functions, foster collaboration in a complex cross‑matrix organisational structure, and shape the workforce to meet the organisation's evolving needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting the business unit on HR related matters such as the entire employee lifecycle, onboarding and offboarding activities, talent management, employee retention, compensation and benefits, performance management, retirement, etc.
  • Providing HR recommendations to key leaders, ensuring alignment with business objectives and HR planning.
  • Implement/Manage the implementation of HR programs.
  • Monitor headcount and staff costs against budget, ensuring adherence to planned budgets and using data to support decision making.
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and being the key advisor for HR related queries within the business unit.
  • Managing HR‑related risks and ensuring proper documentation and reporting, ensuring compliance with local laws and the firm’s policies.
  • Leveraging HR metrics and analytics to inform strategic decisions and provide actionable insights to business leaders.
  • Managing performance management processes, providing tools and guidance for leaders to deliver effective feedback and development plans.
  • Fostering employee engagement by partnering with leaders to create a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Providing support on other areas of Human Resources practice when required and assisting in ad‑hoc projects/tasks where necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3‑5 years in HR managerial experience in a similar setting/industry preferred.
  • Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and regional HR teams to deliver strategic HR solutions and manage HR operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysia’s employment laws and regulations.
  • A team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable engaging with senior management and able to work independently.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills, capable of managing complex tasks and completing priorities within tight time constraints.
  • High level of maturity, adaptability, and accountability.
  • Work onsite 5 days a week.
