HR Manager (Recruitment & Payroll, Educational Industry)
Remuneration: Up to RM10,000 basic per month
We are assisting our client, a leading private higher education institution in Malaysia with strong ties to Singapore, to hire hands‑on Human Resource Manager to lead and oversee the full spectrum of HR operations. This role is responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that align with organizational objectives, covering areas such as talent acquisition, retention, employee relations, and performance management. The ideal candidate will be a strategic partner who ensures compliance with employment laws while fostering a positive and engaging workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full range of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and payroll.
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices aligned with the organization’s vision and values.
- Oversee compensation and benefits programs to ensure fairness and competitiveness.
- Partner with business leaders to understand workforce needs and provide strategic HR support.
- Analyze HR data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement (e.g., turnover rates, training effectiveness).
- Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and engaging company culture.
- Safeguard confidential information and foster a professional, respectful workplace environment.
- Stay updated on market and legislative developments, providing timely guidance to employees and management on HR matters.
- Serve as the primary contact point for employee work‑related queries.
- Conduct briefings, surveys, and training to strengthen understanding and engagement across all levels.
- Provide HR updates and reports to the senior management or governing board committee.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across entities in Singapore and Malaysia.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience in similar roles.
- Strong understanding of Malaysian labour laws and regulations (Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act).
- Proven leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Hands‑on experience in managing HR operations and liaising with government and statutory bodies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong problem‑solving abilities.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and HR management systems.
- HR certifications such as PHR, SPHR, or MIHRM would be an added advantage.
