A leading retailer in Malaysia is seeking an experienced HR professional to manage end-to-end payroll and recruitment activities for store and warehouse employees. The ideal candidate should possess 3–6 years of HR experience in the retail industry, strong payroll processing skills, and be familiar with labor laws. This role supports a high-volume workforce and requires strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
To manage end-to-end payroll and recruitment activities for store, warehouse and head-office employees, ensuring accurate payroll processing, timely hiring, and compliance with retail HR standards. This role supports a high-volume workforce and fast-paced supermarket operations.
Process monthly payroll for multi-location employees (Branches & HQ)
Validate attendance, rosters, overtime, and incentive payments
Process new joiners, transfers, promotions & full-and-final settlements
Ensure payroll accuracy, confidentiality & timely payout
Coordinate with finance for payroll submissions & reconciliations
Ensure compliance with local labour laws & payroll regulations
PF/ESI/SSS/WPS, tax deductions — depending on country
Support statutory audits, internal audits & payroll documentation
Prepare manpower and payroll MIS reports (OT, absenteeism, cost reports)
Responsible for bulk hiring for supermarket roles:
Cashiers, Merchandisers, Store Associates, Delivery/Drivers, Warehouse staff, Supervisors, etc.
Source candidates via job portals, referrals, walk-ins, social media
Coordinate recruitment agencies and training institutes
Plan & support mass hiring campaigns for store openings
Conduct joining formalities, document collection & contract issuing
Coordinate induction & ensure store onboarding support
Assist in HR admin tasks (letters, ID cards, HR files, attendance support)
Bachelor’s Degree in HR / Business Administration
3–6 years HR experience in the supermarket / retail industry
Hands‑on payroll experience and frontline recruitment experience
Knowledge of HRIS / Payroll systems (SAP / Oracle / Infotech / Darwinbox / ERP)
Familiar with shift‑based workforce, OT rules, incentive payroll
Knowledge of labor & employment laws
Strong attention to detail & accuracy
Ability to work under pressure & handle large workforce volume
Confidentiality and integrity
Fast execution and problem-solving ability
Customer‑service mindset towards store staff
Payroll accuracy & on‑time processing
