About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and organised HR & Admin Executive to support the daily operations of Soori Penang, a luxury heritage resort developed by SCDA. Based on-site in George Town, the role involves close coordination with our Singapore head office.

The ideal candidate will be with a sound understanding of Malaysia labour laws, payroll practices, and statutory requirements, and the ability to handle administrative, HR, and basic accounting functions with accuracy and discretion.

Key Responsibilities
Human Resources
  • Manage day-to-day HR operations, including onboarding, attendance, and leave administration.
  • Prepare and maintain employment contracts and HR documentation in compliance with Malaysia labour laws.
  • Handle statutory submissions (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, LHDN) and ensure full compliance.
  • Support recruitment, training, and performance review coordination.
  • Maintain employee files and ensure confidentiality of records.
Finance & Bookkeeping
  • Perform basic bookkeeping and financial record-keeping using accounting software.
  • Process supplier invoices, petty cash, and staff reimbursements.
  • Support monthly reporting and reconciliation with the Singapore finance team.
  • Liaise with auditors, accountants, and government agencies for statutory reporting.
  • Track operational budgets and procurement expenditures.
Administration & Operations
  • Provide administrative support for the Penang office and hotel operations.
  • Coordinate procurement, vendor quotations, deliveries, and related documentation.
  • Manage office supplies, maintenance, and insurance renewals.
  • Assist in preparing management reports and correspondence with Singapore HQ.
Requirements
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in HR and finance administration.
  • Strong understanding of Malaysia employment laws and statutory requirements (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, LHDN).
  • Proficient in basic bookkeeping and accounting software (e.g. Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks).
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, discreet, and able to work independently with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in English.
Work Arrangement
  • Reports to the Property Manager in Penang and liaises closely with the HR and Finance teams in Singapore.
