Job summary

KPJ Selangor Specialist Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support Pharmacy Services with dispensing, compounding, and counseling patients on drug delivery devices to ensure safe medication dispensation and quality care.

The role includes screening prescriptions, confirming with doctors on issues, packaging and labeling, and conducting regular ward and stock checks to maintain inventory and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Pharmacy is required for the role.
• Training or experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
• Strong pharmaceutical knowledge and dispensing skills.

Responsibilities

• Screening and order entry of prescriptions/drug charts.
• Confirming with doctors in case of illegible handwriting or dosage errors or drug unavailability.
• Packaging, labeling, checking and dispensing medications.
• Providing patient counseling when required.
• Compounding pharmaceutical products for extemporaneous use.
• Conducting monthly ward checks and pharmacy stock checks.
• Sending prepared medications to the ward.
• Recordkeeping and ensuring accuracy in dispensing; report errors immediately.
