Responsibilities
  • Act as the representative of the Principal or management in all matters related to hostel administration and daily operations, especially outside of office hours.
  • Oversee and coordinate the duties of all other wardens, including preparing daily or weekly duty rosters and ensuring they perform their tasks satisfactorily.
  • Review daily reports submitted by wardens and take appropriate action. Provide regular reports to the senior administration.
  • Overall in charge of facilities equipment installed at the hostel. Ensure all facilities are in good working condition and hold responsibility for any misuse of facilities by hostel residents.
  • Plan and execute the maintenance plan with no cost or low cost, and involve the warden in maintenance tasks.
  • Have overall responsibility for the discipline, conduct and adherence to hostel rules by all residents, including managing and addressing serious disciplinary cases.
  • Ensure the overall welfare, health and basic needs of the residents are met, including seeking medical treatment for sick students.
  • Plan and organize suitable activities for the healthy emotional, spiritual, physical, intellectual and social development of the residents.
  • Ensure a safe conducive environment within the hostel, overseeing the security of residents, their property and the hostel buildings.
  • Lead and coordinate emergency responses (e.g. fire drills and other safety procedures).
  • Oversee daily operations such as ensuring the daily schedule is followed, managing student placement, and monitoring the quality of essential services like food, cleanliness and maintenance of facilities.
