A leading logistics company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Technology Platform Head to oversee the strategic management and lifecycle of logistics platforms. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management, strong analytical skills, and proven leadership capabilities. Responsibilities include strategic planning, team management, and ensuring service delivery excellence in a dynamic environment.
The Technology Platform Head will lead the strategic management, managing entire lifecycle of the product – from initial concept and development to maintenance as part of business-as-usual operation, improvement, and eventual retirement, and delivery. Reporting directly to Group CTO, this is a critical leadership role serving as the single point of accountability for all platforms under his/her portfolio, including but not limited to Integrated Logistic Operational System, and Cargowise. This individual is expected to bring a strong operational understanding of the business domain, deep platform/system expertise/experience, and a disciplined approach to execution – acting as the unifying force between technology teams, external vendors and business product/function. The ideal candidate combines domain fluency with structured thinking, strong interpersonal presence, and a high degree of ownership.
Strategic Planning and Governance
Product Vision & Roadmap: Working closely with the Business/Function to develop and evolve the strategic roadmap for all operational and enterprise systems, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and scalability across business functions and regions.
Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a credible, solutions-oriented partner to Business Product/Function, and Executive Leadership. Translate high-level business needs into actionable platform strategies, by way of Epics and user-stories.
Governance Framework: Define and enforce platform governance, data integrity, and system access policies. Champion data quality and standardized usage across the organization, in close collaboration with other Platform Portfolio Head, Data Platform & Engineering Head, and Cybersecurity Governance & Operation.
Platform Delivery & Lifecycle Ownership
Execution Oversight: Lead the successful implementation and enhancement of business-critical systems, including full accountability for timeline, budget, resource alignment, and change management.
Lifecycle ownership: Own end-to-end lifecycle of each platform – from concept and planning through rollout, adoption, continuous improvement, and retirement, supported by Platform Manager(s).
Vendor Leadership: Oversee vendor and SI partner performance. Negotiate contracts and SLAs to ensure service reliability and cost-efficiency.
System Integration & Optimization: Ensure robust integration between platforms, middleware, and data/reporting layers. Drive configuration and process optimization to support operational excellence.
Team Leadership and Culture
Platform Leadership Team: Manage and mentor a group of Platform Managers, ensuring clarity of roles, delivery ownership, and development of technical and business acumen.
Process-Driven Culture: Promote rigor, attention to detail, and structured workflows. Encourage evidence-based decision making and measurable improvement.
Change Leadership: Support user adoption and cross-functional alignment through effective training, communication, and business partnership.
Service Management
Operational Excellence: Own the platform service delivery model, including incident, request, and problem management process.
SLA Accountability: Ensure that platforms meet defined SLAs for availability, responsiveness, and resolution times.
Continuous Improvement: Use trend analysis and user feedback to reduce recurring issues, improve support process, and elevate service experience.
Collaboration with IT Operations & Service Management: Work cross-functionality and adhere to standard established by Group Technology Service Management and to ensure end-to-end service reliability across infrastructure, application, and user layers.
