Head of Powertrack/General Manager (O&M Division)
Overview
The Head of Powertrack leads the full commercial, operational and strategic direction of Solarvest’s O&M business. This role is responsible not only for delivering high‑performance asset management for solar plants, but also for transforming Powertrack into a regional MV/HV O&M and critical infrastructure services provider.
This position requires a leader with strong technical understanding, commercial sharpness and an entrepreneurial drive to scale the business, unlock new revenue streams and elevate Powertrack’s market position. You must bring the discipline of a system operator, the mindset of a business owner and the confidence to build and lead a high‑performance organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Strategic Leadership & Business Expansion
- Lead the strategic roadmap for Powertrack, including market positioning, business model revamp, service diversification and regional expansion.
- Drive the division into new segments such as MV/HV substation O&M, interconnection assets maintenance, protection systems, emergency response and lifecycle asset services.
- Identify, evaluate and commercialise new service offerings – spanning preventive maintenance, corrective works, retrofits, spares management, performance recovery and asset optimisation.
- Leverage Solarvest group‑wide portfolio (LSS, C&I, utility clients) to expand Powertrack’s service footprint and recurring revenue base.
- 2. Operational Excellence & Technical Oversight
- Oversee the full spectrum of O&M operations to ensure asset reliability, performance ratio optimisation, safety compliance and contractual SLA achievement.
- Lead technical teams across solar, MV/HV electrical systems, SCADA, protection relays and interconnection facilities (IF).
- Ensure best‑in‑class preventive and corrective maintenance programmes, fast response to outages and a strong HSE culture.
- Establish robust governance frameworks, SOPs and quality management systems.
- Own the division’s P&L
- Own the division’s P&L, ensuring sustainable margins, productivity improvement and cost optimisation across all O&M activities.
- Develop pricing frameworks, cost models, performance dashboards and profitability tracking mechanisms.
- Drive customer retention, contract renewals and expansion of existing accounts.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, TNB, vendors, OEMs, insurance providers and service contractors.
- Act as the escalation point for major clients, disputes or technical issues.
- Ensure transparent communication, solution‑oriented engagement and strong customer satisfaction scores.
- 5. Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Build and lead a multidisciplinary team (solar O&M, MV/HV specialists, commercial, data analytics, technicians and emergency response).
- Mentor and groom future leaders; instill a performance‑driven, accountable and safety‑first culture.
- Drive digitalisation – remote monitoring, analytics, automation and predictive maintenance.
- 6. Risk, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory, electrical, safety, TNB and industry standards.
- Conduct root cause analyses for faults, implement improvement plans and reduce downtime incidents.
- Drive continuous improvement through technology, data insights and process optimisation.
Requirements
- 8–12 years’ experience in O&M, asset management, power systems operations, facilities management or related fields.
- Experience in MV/HV electrical systems, substations, protection relays or grid interconnection facilities (preferred advantage).
- Proven leadership of operational teams, with strong understanding of SLAs, maintenance programmes and technical compliance.
- Strong commercial acumen with ability to manage P&L, develop business strategies and drive new revenue streams.
- Entrepreneurial and business‑builder mindset – able to shape new business models, scale operations and create market differentiation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience in solar O&M, energy infrastructure services or utility operations is an added benefit.
