Overview

The Head of Operations is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the efficient and effective management of hospital operations within the Group. This role involves maintaining high standards of healthcare delivery, ensuring patient safety, operational excellence, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the continuous improvement of hospital services. The Head of Operations will work closely with hospital management teams to align operations with the Group’s mission, vision, and strategic goals while driving sustainable growth and operational efficiency.

The incumbent will also take parts in new hospital projects, including new developments, renovations, expansions, and facility upgrades, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with healthcare standards and statutory requirements.

Primary Functions
  • Develop, implement, and review operational policies, procedures, and SOPs to ensure consistency and efficiency across all hospitals within the Group.
  • Ensure operational compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements, licensing conditions, and accreditation standards.
  • Oversee hospital project planning, execution, and monitoring, including infrastructure development, renovation, and equipment installation, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational needs.
  • Prepare, manage, and monitor the operational budget, business plans, and investment strategies to support the Group’s objectives and financial sustainability.
  • Drive the implementation of effective and efficient operational practices to improve service delivery, patient satisfaction, and resource utilization.
  • Monitor hospital performance, including business performance indicators, patient care quality, risk management, incident reports, audit outcomes, and legal cases.
  • Provide strategic direction and operational guidance to hospital GMs and management teams to ensure alignment with Group goals.
  • Ensure all clinical, allied health, support services, and facilities management functions meet expected operational and service quality standards.
  • Lead performance improvement initiatives and promote operational excellence through benchmarking and continuous review of hospital workflows.
  • Collaborate with Group KMI HR to ensure optimal manpower planning, staff productivity, and succession planning.
  • Strengthen the Group’s corporate image by supporting branding activities, including forums, seminars, and community engagement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s Degree preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in hospital or healthcare operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale hospital projects and multidisciplinary operational teams.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and safety requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to drive operational efficiency and business growth.
