Job description

The successful candidate will oversee daily maintenance activities, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance. Ensure that maintenance activities are performed in compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement maintenance strategies and plans to ensure the reliable and safe operation of equipment and machinery.
• Identify and prioritize maintenance projects based on operational needs and industry best practices.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of maintenance professionals, including engineers, technicians, and support staff.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence within the maintenance team.
• Drive initiatives to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and enhance overall maintenance efficiency.
• Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with safety regulations and company safety policies.
• Evaluate and select contractors for specialized maintenance tasks or projects.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and repair histories.
• Prepare and present regular reports on maintenance performance, including key metrics and KPIs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 20 years of experience in maintenance management within the heavy industries sector. Steel and Iron making will be added an advantage.
• Proven track record of successfully leading maintenance teams and managing complex maintenance operations.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance management systems (CMMS) and best practices in preventive maintenance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance requirements in heavy industries.
