Job description

Serve as the primary liaison between the organisation and government bodies, including ministries, agencies, and regulatory authorities.

Monitor, analyze, and provide recommendations on government policies, automotive regulations, standards, and industry initiatives.

Represent the organisation in meetings, technical committees, and public consultations related to automotive industry matters.

Coordinate and prepare policy papers, position statements, and technical reports for submission to relevant authorities.

Lead and support the technical working groups in addressing industry issues such as vehicle standards, safety, emissions, and sustainability.

Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to ensure the organisation’s views and interests are well represented.

Provide technical advice and insights to the Council and members on regulatory and industry developments.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Public Policy, Automotive Technology, Business Management or related field preferred. A diploma qualification may also be considered, provided the candidate has a minimum of five years of relevant experience.

Relevant experience in government liaison, regulatory affairs, or technical management within the automotive or public policy sectors.

Strong understanding of Malaysia’s automotive policies, government processes, and regulatory frameworks.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Analytical and detail-oriented with the ability to interpret technical and policy documents.

Proactive, resourceful, and capable of working both independently and in a team environment.

Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia (spoken and written).

Professional, diplomatic, and confident in representing the Association at high-level meetings.
