Job description
Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of UHP Gas Component Manufacturing Operations to lead our Malaysia-based manufacturing facility focused on Ultra-High Purity (UHP) gas components, including regulators, valves, filters, fittings, and precision assemblies.

The candidate will oversee end-to-end manufacturing, quality assurance, production control, and team development, driving operational excellence in accordance with ISO, SEMI, and ASME standards.

This role requires a proven leader with a strong background in production systems, process optimization, and quality management methodologies (8D, RCCA) for UHP component manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage complete manufacturing operations for UHP gas components (regulators, valves, filters, and fittings).
  • Establish and maintain robust automated production management systems, including time studies, process studies, and workflow optimization.
  • Develop and implement Lean Manufacturing and 5S systems to improve throughput, yield, and equipment utilization.
  • Ensure UHP cleanliness and electropolish (EP) process compatibility in all production stages, maintaining compliance with SEMI F19/F57, ISO 8573, and ASME B31.3.
  • Drive quality assurance programs, including root cause analysis (RCCA), 8D reporting, SPC, and FMEA, to achieve zero-defect manufacturing.
  • Oversee supplier quality, incoming inspection, cleanroom assembly, and final product testing for UHP performance validation.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, R&D, and global leadership for new product industrialization in valves, regulators, and filters.
  • Establish KPIs for productivity, quality, and delivery, ensuring all targets are aligned with company goals.
  • Manage resource planning, workforce training, and skill matrix development for high-performance manufacturing teams.
  • Implement continuous improvement systems (Kaizen, Six Sigma) to enhance cost efficiency and product reliability.
  • Ensure strict adherence to ESD, safety, and UHP cleanliness protocols within the production environment.
  • Represent manufacturing operations in management reviews, audits, and cross-functional global initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (Electrical/Mechatronics with relevant experience also considered).
  • 10–20 years of experience in precision or UHP gas component manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven expertise in regulator, valve, and fitting manufacturing processes — including machining, welding, assembly, and leak testing.
  • Strong understanding of UHP and EP-compatible materials (316L VIM-VAR, Hastelloy, etc.) and surface finish requirements (Ra ≤ 10 µin).
  • Demonstrated experience in quality systems management – 8D, RCCA, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and ISO 9001/14001.
  • Familiarity with SEMI, ISO, and ASME compliance for gas components.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems, production scheduling, and manufacturing analytics.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills with a track record of building high-performance teams.
Preferred Attributes
  • Experience in automated EP (Electropolish) process oversight and cleanroom manufacturing for UHP systems.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) or equivalent.
  • Exposure to international manufacturing environments in the semiconductor or precision instrumentation sectors.
  • Ability to drive strategic operations transformation while maintaining quality and delivery excellence.
