Head of Finance / Senior Finance Manager

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Head of Finance to lead the finance function of a growing healthcare manufacturing operations in Malacca. This is a succession planning role to take over from the current Head of Finance, as part of succession planning.

The ideal candidate is a Chartered Accountant, fluent in Mandarin, with a solid background in financial reporting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), and manufacturing costing. This individual will play a critical role as a business advisor to the Managing Director, helping to elevate the company’s financial strategy and support sustainable business growth.

What you’ll be doing

• Strategic Financial Leadership
  Serve as a trusted advisor to the Managing Director and leadership team on all financial matters. Provide financial insights to support strategic decision‑making, investment planning, and business transformation. Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems to support operational efficiency and scalability. Lead timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with MFRS/IFRS. Ensure full compliance with local regulatory requirements, tax reporting, and audit standards. Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and government agencies.
• Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
  Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and business performance reviews. Provide in‑depth financial and variance analysis to support cost control, pricing strategy, and margin improvement. Develop financial models to support new product introductions, capital expenditures, and strategic projects.
• Costing & Manufacturing Finance
  Oversee the costing function, ensuring accurate standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation. Partner closely with plant operations and supply chain to drive cost efficiency, productivity, and waste reduction. Monitor manufacturing KPIs and contribute to operational and profitability improvements.
• Team Leadership
  Lead and mentor a finance team of 12. Foster a high‑performance culture with a focus on accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.

What we’re looking for

• Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior finance leadership role in a manufacturing environment
• Solid experience in costing, FP&A, and financial reporting, preferably in medical device or regulated industries
• Strong business acumen and strategic mindset
• Fluent in Mandarin (spoken) – essential to liaise with Mandarin‑speaking directors
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Based in or willing to relocate to Malacca
