Job description

Lead the department in developing and implementing strategies, policies, and standards for the management and maintenance of all MEE assets.

Formulate annual work programs and budgets for operations, maintenance, and upgrading works.

Provide technical leadership and direction to ensure efficient utilization of resources and cost-effective maintenance practices.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, energy efficiency, and system performance.

Strategic & Leadership
  • Lead the department in developing and implementing strategies, policies, and standards for the management and maintenance of all MEE assets.
  • Formulate annual work programs and budgets for operations, maintenance, and upgrading works.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to ensure efficient utilization of resources and cost-effective maintenance practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, energy efficiency, and system performance.
Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic Systems Management
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems.
  • Manage all electrical systems including high-voltage and low-voltage networks, substations, power backup systems, and energy management.
  • Supervise all the electronic systems.
  • Ensure timely execution of preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Review and approve technical specifications, design drawings, and project proposals for MEE-related works.
Power Systems & Infrastructure Management
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and upgrading of power generation and distribution systems.
  • Ensure high reliability of electrical supply for critical business assets and systems.
  • Lead technical assessment, design review, and project execution for power-related capital works and major maintenance.
  • Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and optimize asset life cycle.
  • Manage energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives including renewable energy deployment (e.g., solar PV, hybrid systems).
Asset Integrity & Safety
  • Ensure all MEE installations comply with local authority and regulatory requirements (e.g., Suruhanjaya Tenaga, DOSH, BOMBA).
  • Implement safety management systems and procedures for MEE operations.
  • Monitor asset condition and reliability through inspections, audits, and performance indicators.
Project & Contract Management
  • Plan and oversee MEE-related capital and improvement projects from conceptual design through completion.
  • Manage procurement processes, evaluate contractors and vendors, and ensure contract performance meets technical and service standards.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely project delivery and minimal disruption to operations.
Stakeholder Management
  • Liaise with external authorities, consultants, contractors, and utility providers (TNB, Telekom, etc.) for MEE-related issues.
  • Provide expert technical advice and support to management and other departments.
People & Performance Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the MEE team to ensure a high-performing, technically competent workforce.
  • Conduct performance reviews, identify training needs, and promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and safety.
