The Role

The Head of Engineering will lead the engineering division and oversee all project management activities within the electrical industry. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise and leadership skills to ensure successful project delivery and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement engineering strategies aligned with business goals.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in engineering processes.
• Manage end-to-end project lifecycle, including planning, budgeting, execution, and delivery.
• Ensure projects meet timelines, cost targets, and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance on electrical systems design, installation, and commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with Malaysian electrical codes, safety regulations, and sustainability standards.
• Lead, mentor, and develop engineering and project teams while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
• Act as the primary technical liaison for clients and partners.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and resolve technical issues.

Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale electrical projects eg expertise in HV including substations, switchgear, transformers, and power grid.
• Certified by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) as a Competent Person (e.g., A4, A1) or registered Energy Marshal would be an added value.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian electrical standards and regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel within Southeast Asia.
