The Head of Engineering is responsible for leading the engineering team, driving innovation, and ensuring the successful execution of projects and initiatives. This role involves strategic planning, team management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions that align with the organization's goals. The Head of Engineering will also play a key role in fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation within the engineering centre.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy
  • Develop and implement the engineering centre's vision, strategy, and goals in alignment with the organization's objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the engineering team, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with senior management to define long-term engineering and product development strategies.
Team Management
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage a high‑performing engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for professional development within the team.
  • Ensure effective resource allocation and workload distribution across projects.
Project Oversight
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies as needed. Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards in all engineering activities.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
  • Drive innovation by staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the engineering team.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Work closely with other departments, such as product management, operations, and sales, to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for engineering-related matters, both internally and externally.
  • Represent the engineering centre in meetings with clients, partners, and other stakeholders.
Budget and Resource Management
  • Develop and manage the department’s budget, ensuring cost‑effective use of resources.
  • Identify and procure necessary tools, equipment, and technologies to support engineering activities.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.

Experience: 10+ years of experience in engineering roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management position.
