Head of Department (Retail & Product Management)

About the role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Head of Department (Retail & Product Management) to join our team at Panorama Langkawi Sdn Bhd in Langkawi, Kedah. This is a full time role that will play a crucial part in the development and growth of our retail and product offerings.

What you'll be doing

Develop and execute retail and product strategies aligned with tourism trends and organizational goals. Introduce new merchandise concepts and exclusive branding tailored to the SkyCab experience.

Oversee ideation, design, and production of souvenirs, apparel, and branded merchandise. Ensure product quality, relevance, and emotional resonance with visitors.

Manage store operations—including inventory control, visual merchandising, vendor relationships, and sales forecasting. Ensure stock levels are optimized and quality standards upheld.

Lead and mentor a team of Retail Executives and retail staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to achieve targets and deliver exceptional guest service.

Set and manage retail budgets, monitor P&L, and drive initiatives to boost sales, margin, and profitability. Analyze sales metrics and adjust strategies as needed.

Work closely with Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Customer Relations teams to synchronize product promotions, seasonal launches, and guest experience optimizations.

Elevate overall guest satisfaction through compelling product offerings and a seamless, memorable retail journey at SkyCab outlets.

Build strong supplier relationships and oversee negotiations to ensure timely delivery, cost-efficiency, and high-quality merchandise.

Keep abreast of retail and tourism trends, incorporating innovation into product design, merchandising strategies, and guest engagement.

What we're looking for

Extensive experience (5+ years) in retail and product management, preferably in the tourism or hospitality industry.

Proven track record of developing and implementing successful retail strategies.

Expertise in product development, from concept to launch.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.

Relevant degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
