Overview

An international energy operator is seeking a Head of Construction to oversee all aspects of Compression Platform Complex Fabrication projects. The role ensures successful project execution, constructability compliance, and strong coordination between company and contractor teams. The position focuses on planning, supervision, risk management, and lessons learned implementation for large-scale fabrication projects.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and regulations during fabrication activities
  • Manage and ensure successful execution of Compression Platform Complex Fabrication projects to meet safety, quality, schedule, and other objectives
  • Supervise and control contractor and subcontractor activities related to topsides fabrication and mechanical completion, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and international standards
  • Review constructability and technical compliance of deliverables provided by the Engineering Team and contractors
  • Assess deviations from construction standards and provide comments with contractors/subcontractors to maintain consistent documentation
  • Identify progress or quality issues and recommend corrective actions as required
  • Review contractor progress reports and highlight critical problems or risks
  • Liaise with contractors/subcontractors for structure, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities, providing safe execution solutions and ensuring proper progress follow-up
  • Lead and contribute to risk assessments, pre-job meetings, and technical meetings according to company standards
  • Participate in project lessons learned, implementing improvements from previous projects and capturing best practices
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sciences or Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in large-scale construction projects within the Oil & Gas industry, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or oversight role
  • Experience in construction, installation, fabrication, execution, completion, hook-up, or related disciplines
  • Familiarity with project execution procedures, field management techniques, fabrication, welding, lifting, mechanical testing, and completions
  • Previous experience with energy companies, contractors, or heavy construction firms
  • Technical and Business Skills: Knowledge of design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria for fabrication, transport, installation, brownfield execution, and hook-up
  • Understanding of offshore/onshore facilities, yard operations, and execution methods for LNG and sour gas production
  • Strong risk awareness and familiarity with large-scale operating organizations in Operations, Projects, or Subsurface
  • Ability to supervise, lead, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams effectively
