Public Relations and Corporate Communications Manager
MERCY Malaysia is an international relief organisation based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with operations in several countries around the world. We also actively provide health care to indigenous communities living in remote areas in Malaysia.
Responsibilities
- Oversee communications, public relations, fundraising, donor management, and business development strategies.
- Develop and implement effective fundraising and campaign plans to expand donor and partner networks and ensure sustainable income growth.
- Lead market research and analysis to identify new fundraising, partnership, and development opportunities.
- Plan and manage departmental budgets, programmes, and KPIs to ensure effective implementation and measurable results.
- Coordinate internal administration and operations related to communications, fundraising, donor management, campaigns, and partnerships.
- Strengthen relationships with media, corporate partners, donors, and stakeholders through proactive engagement and strategic communications.
- Manage organization-wide communications, branding, and public relations activities, including media releases, publications, advocacy materials, and special projects.
- Manage the compilation, data collection, content development, and design of the Organisation’s Annual Report.
- Identify, engage, and secure new donors, sponsors, and strategic partners through targeted outreach and collaboration.
- Ensure all fundraising campaigns and events are well-executed, impactful, and effectively communicated across media platforms.
- Develop and implement comprehensive donor management strategies to enhance engagement, retention, recognition, and long-term partnerships.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the team, fostering a positive, performance-driven work culture.
- Experience in Islamic Social Finance (ISF) such as zakat, waqf, or sadaqah-based initiatives is an advantage.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in communications, public relations, fundraising, donor management, and business development.
- Strong strategic planning and analytical skills.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and team management abilities.
- Ability to manage budgets and deliver measurable results.
- Experience working in a humanitarian or non-profit setting is preferred.
- Knowledge/experience with Islamic Social Finance initiatives is a plus.
