As part of our strategic transformation, we are looking for a visionary leader to head our Big Data, Research & Information Division.
The Role
As the Head – Big Data, Research & Information, you will lead MEF’s research and data analytics efforts, delivering impactful insights that shape public policy, guide employer strategies, and strengthen MEF’s influence at national and international levels.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement MEF’s research and big data strategy.
Oversee economic and policy research that supports MEF’s advocacy and services.
Lead a team of researchers and data professionals to deliver high-impact studies and reports.
Represent MEF in government and industry dialogues, providing strategic insights on labour and economic trends.
Oversee the development of press releases and media statements on labor market developments, regulatory changes, and MEF's positions on key issues.
Drive innovation in data analysis, research methods, and visualization tools.
Manage large datasets, ensuring data governance and analytical rigour.
Deliver presentations and briefings to MEF Council, stakeholders, and external partners.
Qualification
Master’s degree or higher in Economics, Data Science, Statistics, Public Policy, or related fields. A Doctorate in a related field would be an added advantage.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in labor economics, research, or policy advocacy, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Strong background in economic research, labour market analysis, or policy advisory.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership skills.
Proficiency in analytical tools such as R, Python, Stata, Power BI, or Tableau is a plus.
Deep understanding of Malaysian economic and policy landscapes.
