Job description

We’re recruiting a senior leader to take full accountability for an international organisation’s assets and vessel management function. This is a strategic, hands‑on role responsible for maximising fleet availability, driving operational excellence and ensuring regulatory/class compliance across complex DP and heavy‑lift vessels.

Your new role:
  • Set and execute asset & vessel management strategy to optimise utilisation, lifecycle and return on investment.
  • Lead and develop a high‑performing asset team, embedding continuous improvement and succession planning.
  • Oversee full lifecycle activities: acquisition, operation, maintenance, dry‑docking and disposal.
  • Deliver safety, technical integrity and class compliance across the fleet.
  • Manage OPEX/CAPEX planning and the annual asset budget; drive cost‑efficient maintenance and vendor negotiations.
  • Support commercial and delivery teams with asset readiness for tenders and project mobilisation.
Must-have experience & qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or related discipline.
  • 20+ years’ experience in offshore oil & gas / marine energy, with a minimum of 10 years in senior asset/vessel leadership.
  • Direct, demonstrable experience with DP vessels — Heavy‑lift and Pipe‑lay DP vessels experience is essential.
  • Strong track record in asset performance improvement, maintenance strategy, dry‑dock planning and regulatory/class engagement.
  • Proven financial acumen managing budgets, CAPEX programmes and cost recovery.
What success looks like within this role:
  • Improved fleet uptime and utilisation.
  • Robust maintenance governance and compliant class status.
  • Clear lifecycle plans and optimised OPEX/CAPEX performance.
  • A resilient, capable asset team with succession in place.

This is a high‑impact role offering genuine strategic influence within a global fleet operations environment. You’ll join the leadership team, shape long‑term asset plans and lead critical decisions on fleet renewal and performance.
