Job description

We are seeking a highly dedicated and experienced Head of Asset Management to strategically lead and oversee the company’s entire Fixed Asset function within the Finance Department. This critical role ensures robust asset governance, accurate asset lifecycle management, and absolute compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) across all capitalised assets.

Key Responsibilities and Impact
  • Strategic Oversight: Lead the Fixed Asset function, establishing policies and procedures for the complete asset lifecycle, from acquisition to disposal.
  • MFRS Compliance: Ensure rigorous compliance with key accounting standards, particularly MFRS 116 (Property, Plant and Equipment) and MFRS 136 (Impairment of Assets), maintaining accuracy in asset valuation and reporting.
  • Process Enhancement: Drive continuous improvement in asset management processes, reconciliation, physical verification, and control frameworks to minimise risk.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the key liaison for asset-related matters, coordinating effectively with operations, engineering, and finance teams.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ dedicated experience in fixed asset management, financial accounting, or a related role, with at least two years in a senior or supervisory capacity.
  • Demonstrable expertise and a solid practical understanding of MFRS 116, MFRS 136, and best‑practice asset governance.
  • Proven leadership and coordination skills, with strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Practical experience utilising Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., Microsoft DynamiThis is a key leadership role where you will directly influence strategic decision‑making and financial integrity.
