Job summary

Job description

To provide strategic leadership in corporate learning and knowledge management by designing and driving enterprise-wide talent development initiatives and institutional knowledge systems. This role strengthens organizational capability, enhances future-readiness, and cultivates a sustainable learning culture aligned with national priorities and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Learning & Development

Design and implement comprehensive learning and development strategies that align talent development initiatives with organizational goals through structured curricula, innovative delivery models, and continuous learning pathways.

Champion a strong organizational learning culture that supports leadership development, professional excellence, and long-term capability building.

Lead the evaluation of training effectiveness by conducting impact assessments, analysing feedback, and ensuring learning outcomes translate into measurable business and organizational results.

Knowledge Management & Institutional Learning

Oversee the development, enhancement, and governance of knowledge management platforms and repositories to preserve institutional memory and enable effective knowledge sharing.

Manage the full lifecycle of the resource centre, ensuring learning materials remain current, accessible, relevant, and aligned with evolving organizational needs.

Digital & Modern Learning Innovation

Modernize training delivery by integrating digital learning platforms, contemporary instructional methods, modular learning designs, and blended learning approaches to improve accessibility, scalability, and effectiveness.

Monitor emerging trends in corporate learning, governance education, and digital learning technologies to continuously enhance learning offerings.

Stakeholder Engagement & External Representation

Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with reputable training institutions, professional bodies, and industry experts to enrich learning content and expand organizational reach.

Represent the organization in national and international learning forums, benchmarking best practices, contributing to policy discussions, and strengthening institutional reputation in learning and development.

Leadership, Governance & Compliance

Provide governance-related training to board members and senior leaders, covering fiduciary duties, regulatory developments, corporate governance standards, and emerging business risks.

Ensure training programs comply with statutory requirements, corporate governance frameworks, and internal policies by embedding standard operating procedures and conducting regular audits.

Oversee contract management related to training providers, procurement of learning services, and compliance with relevant educational and regulatory standards.

People Leadership & Capability Building

Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing learning and knowledge management team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Identify talent gaps within the function and implement structured competency-building initiatives, including mentoring, targeted development programs, and strategic hiring, to build a future-ready workforce.

Requirements
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Knowledge Management, or a related discipline.

Professional certifications such as Certified Training Professional (CTP), Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM), or equivalent are an added advantage.

Experience

Minimum of 15 years’ experience in training and development, corporate learning, or knowledge management, including significant senior leadership experience.

Proven expertise in learning strategy formulation, adult learning methodologies, and large-scale training program design.

Extensive experience in knowledge management frameworks, digital learning technologies, and cultivating organizational learning cultures.

Demonstrated experience in contract management, procurement of training services, and compliance with governance and educational standards.

Strong background in stakeholder engagement, leadership development, and talent management.

Working knowledge of learning analytics, impact measurement, e-learning platforms, and emerging trends in corporate learning.

Additional Knowledge (Added Advantage)

Experience delivering governance-related training for boards and senior leadership.

Familiarity with corporate law, governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements, including statutory obligations under the Companies Act or equivalent legislation.

Employment Type: Contract position (3 years), with potential conversion to permanent based on performance - Benefits same as permanent employee

Work Arrangement: On-site, with flexible working hours (Monday to Friday; staggered start between 7:30am – 9:30am, completing 8 working hours daily).

Stakeholders: Internal and external participants, including senior leaders and board members.

Team Structure: Oversight of senior managers, managers, executives, and support staff.
